I wander: a day tripper
I wander
―
For last two weeks, I've dedicated my weekdays to college & midterm exams. Luckily, I didn't suffer from major midterm crisis aka not-wanting-to-study feelings because I had some lovely distractions.
Yes, lovely distractions sound really ironical and weird, but it literally was. Thinking about the weekends before exam, everyone usually study overnight to cram up all the notes & vocabs with some caffeine.
In my case, I left all those behind and left the city.
Was I very worried for my studies?
Indeed I was.
However, what you need for the upcoming important plans may not be staying indoors and stacking up the data in brain.
I went to two places last month with my family- seaside.
The first day trip was to the western beach, the next trip to the East Sea.
A little fact about me, I don't like sea/beach that much.
I just prefer greens than blue; nevertheless, both trips were great enough that I got to admit sea!
The first day trip of the month: Western Sea
We started the journey by visiting a temple near the place we were staying. It was too early in the morning that we weren't able to go inside, but early morning air woke everyone up, so it was worth a visit!
By the little house we stayed, there was this little trail where we could have a short walk. We could see the whole sea along with the trees around the trail. The day was really foggy, but I loooooved it cause it felt so still as if the moment stand still.
Then we headed to the seashore.
It felt like the fog made everything calm.
Everything was blurry, the only sound there was the salty water hitting against the long standing rocks.
Gazing the wave allowed me to get out of my concoction of worries that felt like huge troubles.
Another highlight of the day was the botanical garden by the sea.
Since I love being surrounded by greens, I got so excited as soon as I entered this little wonderland.
This place had tons of amazing plants, I and my sister wanted some of them so badly that we ended up seriously considering about getting a Christmas tree already.
This day trip was a pure escapism of hectic first semester.
Let's not forget the dinner barbecue alongside the beach, a huge appreciation to my dad who always do the best BBQ.
The second day trip of the month: East Sea
I got my day-tripper-mode again after few weeks later.
This time, off to the east side of the peninsula.
These four pictures.
I still can't get over with the excitement whenever I see these photos.
There were almost no people that we felt like as if we had our private beach!
Let's take a moment of appreciation here.
The most adorable seawall fence I've ever seen is located at the East Sea of Korea.
My mom and sea.
She was actually holding a random bunch of seaweed from nowhere.
Typical mother.
And there's me.
Cliché
After sun bathing, we decided to visit a temple located at the sea cliff.
The place was decorated with colorful lanterns for the Buddha's Birthday celebration.
mom and dad.
Idk if this was candid or not, but still adorable thing.

Having some times to leave all my must-do things behind had helped me so much not only with my midterm exams, but also with my attitude toward daily life.
I guess this was a right kind of remedy for me;
being a day tripper with family/friends.
I totally recommend this to everyone of you, especially if you're slowly getting tired from a regular daily routine.
It will freshen up your head & mind and clear up the uncertainties.

What lovely photos and I think it is great that you used the time to spend it with family and relax. Studying is important, but so is being relaxed and feeling calm in the mind before an exam so I think taking this time out was a smart move!
