February & March.

―

Back here again! It's clear that I didn't come back to my blog after I realized only a month
was left between me and new college year.
My winter break was super sweet, by that I mean, I never went out but stayed in all day looooooong until my mom almost begged me to go out and have some vitamin C and fresh air. But c'mon, it's WINTER BREAK.

So I ended up gaining weights and now I weigh the heaviest I've ever been in my life.
No regrets, no regrets.
I really had a relaxing break for 3 months.
And a week before my college sophomore year starts, my family and I went on a trip to Taiwan
and it became another favorite memory of my life.

I'm so ready to share all my photos and stories from our Taiwan trip, next two posts are gonna be amazing!
But I thought a good old catch up post needed to come first to set my blog timeline
in order due to my vacancy for almost 2 months.

So here's my record of last two months, it's full of springy feelings!

We've recently added a record player to our household.
And it means we get to spend another bunch of money on vinyls! Yay!!!
Luckily, a vinyl & record player shop is pretty near my house,
so my sister came home with the very first vinyl of the year, Broods.

Even though my dad has quite a selection of vinyls from the 90's, - The Beatles and George Michael are there!
- we also wanted to try out some of our recent fav releases.

And the feeling when it finally plays with its unique crackling sound, it's just a pure excitement.

I remember baking this cause I felt so much spring even though it was super cold outside.
A typical me, get obsessed with every season so much ahead of time.

This apple cake is one of my go-to homemade goodies cause it's super fast, easy to make from scratch.
And guys, it's vegan. (but has that taste of 'omg, is it really vegan?')

As soon as I felt spring coming, the first thing that came upon my mind was to finally take  off the decorations
from last Christmas & New Year's day and switch them with something bright & light.

I printed some posters of my timeless fav films & books and taped them on the wall.
It was as simple as that & with the little help from fairylights, it became soooooo pretty.
I really recommend all of you to do this on the little corner of your room, it works as a great background for everything.

I had a Galentine's day this year.
I love my college girls.

A day I had the best burger in town.
This place is actually super near to my house, but I never got to try there
cause I tend to delay my plans when it comes to places in my town.

But look at this avocado burger & you can blame me for never going there until then.
I'm definitely going back to burger-treat myself!

And after the best burger, I had the prettiest dessert in town.
It's the Mendl's from the Grand Budapest Hotel movie!
This was also on my to-do list that I never attempted to properly done it because this was in my town.
I thought someday I would try it, but it's been like 2 years lol

And that day was that someday! I finally had it, and I was a happy pig.

An usual lunch at part time job.
Fried rice with an egg staring at me is always delicious. duh

I took this photo of Gwanghwamun when the formal president of South Korea was
officially impeached after all the protests & trials.

I was on my way to have lunch after Friday classes & it was really strange to see the empty, calm roads that used to be the busiest and the loudest place in Seoul during the formal president's trials at the court. That day was such a great day for us to remind what democracy really is & how the nation can change the country, not an individual!

This happens when my love of carbs gets overloaded.
I came back home with two boxes of donuts that day and everyone was like
whhhhaaat?? I thought you were gonna lose weight.

But these were super sweet & sugary, just how I wanted them to be.

And this adorable chick-shaped dessert filled with chestnut cream.

Found this old photo of me and my sister when we were about 6!
I remember that strawberry t-shirt and flowy jeans, they used to be my favorite look back then.

This was a very sunny day, and I was really excited the whole day
because I really didn't feel cold without my extra layers inside my coat!
For this sem, Fridays are always the best day to hang out or have a brunch, so I had one with my sister in my town.

We went to a cute little restaurant called 'Salad Seller'.
It was such a fresh & tasty meal with colorful veggies & healthy options.

We had a warm avocado bowl with sweet pumpkin soup and apple arugula sandwich.
No words, I can't wait to go back with my mom, she's gonna like it.

Found a cute grocery next to the lunch place.
This place is full of pretty cutlery, plates, snacks & cheese.

Of course, we bought some stuffs to snack on and we totally ignored how much we were full.

I think I'm now visiting a vinyl shop at least once a week even though I don't buy one everytime I go there.
They even have cassettes of some 80's & 90's Korean singers and my dad is gonna looooove it.
Can't wait for his bday so I can get one for him!

My matcha obsession recently got a little much.
I don't know if it's the warmer weather or just me becoming a serious foodie.
I made this green tea latte with espresso at my part time job & it wasn't that difficult to make unlike my expectation! Sweet & bitter goes sooooooooo well.

I now have to admit that this is more like a monthly food diary.
This cappuccino here was the best iced cappuccino I've ever had.
I had it with jasmine cream brulee which was something that I never tasted before!

Experiencing a new taste is always a fun thing for me.

Last, but never can't be a least, I added a new one to my collection.
As soon as I saw this displayed, I didn't hesitate a second, just grabbed it and paid for it.
Not only his vinyl is quite rare to get cause it's so popular, but also it sounds so great when played on the record player!

So this is how my February & March were, yet this isn't everything from my two months document. I'm now planning to write some travel posts from my Taiwan trip last Feb & a little post about what I eat during college days.

For now, I'm having busy days with no day offs- going to classes everyday & working on the weekends.
But surprisingly, I'm getting used to this kind of cycle that I can afford this blog post
in the school library between classes.

I'll be going to my next classes in 20 minutes, and this 3 hours has been such productive one.
No regrets for having tired eyes and dark circles under.

I hope you enjoyed my diary & let's catch up :)

Mid-December to mid-January.

―

Aside from devoting myself from Christmas spirit to New Year's resolutions,
I still enjoyed my ordinary dailies and managed to capture some of the small little things.
Here's my monthly record from two near and far months- the time between the almost end of the year
and the freshly start of the year.

This was when my college freshman days were about to end. It was a same typical day, but my mom and sisters came around. So instead of going home straight after the classes, we decided to take a mini adventure to the near town.

By that time, which was around mid-Dec, the town was filled with the 'calm before the storm' vibe,
making us feel super peaceful and calm.
Another likable factor was that this place had a good amount of the old and the new- a mixture between
the modern buildings and traditional Korean houses.

Whilst wandering, I noticed the sunset for the first time in so long time.
It was a moment of reminder of how pretty sky Seoul has got.

Austere and tranquil ambiance of the village eased our weariness of city life.
This kind of getaway (a super short getaway, indeed) was something that I was in need of before crazy final exam days.

Then, my winter break officially started. aka my winter hibernation had started.
I'm surprised everyday to see myself not going out and not trying to go out *insert cry laugh emoji here*
As a huge huge HUGE staycation devotee who still loooooooves to travel (typical me irony duh), I've been doing stuffs that I couldn't do during school days like binge reading, watching films, napping and crafting.
This piece of DIY-ish creation is the family memory corkboard that I made. I even tried making yarn tassels for the first time and it turned out lovely! One for home and one for my dad's office table!
I wish we'd be able to fill those with great memories as we did past years.

My bff came to see me few weeks ago. Despite our distance, we've been bffs for 7 years now!
Thanks to our similarities in almost everything, going to art exhibition tacitly became our routine.
This time, we went to see the legendary work, The Gleaners by Jean Francois Millet.
In one sentence, his most famous work of all time was a quintessence of realism art.
Along with The Gleaners, we treated our eyes with the works that traveled across the oceans from Orsay Museum- Gogh, Renoir, Gauguin, Monet

Bff catch up can't be complete without coffee, tea and desserts.
We've had so much sugar and caffeine, but all of us were able to stay normal since
we were too busy laughing, taking selfies, and chatting.

And back to happy introvert life.
These photos were taken when I went outside for the first time in 3 days.
It was a long journey indeed that I traveled across all the stairs to reach to our house rooftop...after like a couple of minutes of appreciating the snow and the sunlight, I hurriedly came back into my warm blankets
which is always the safest place from the freezing air.

Last, but NEVER LEAST.
An embroidered shopper bag by mom!!!
I'm definitely sticking to this bag for the rest of my life because it's just perfect...
She even embroidered my initial DAWN on the handle to melt my heart.
Can't wait to carry them around everywhere this year. I'm the most proud daughter.

So far, so good. My 10+ days of 2017 have been good enough.
So did my 1/3 of winter break! I can't wait to capture more of my dailies for the next diary post.

How's your 2017 so far? Hope the last days and more days ahead of 2017 be wonderful!

November.

―

Hi blog!
I'm finally writing another post ever since I posted one on like...October?
Which means I was totally gone again from this cyber space because of 'real life' stuffs.

Yes, I was super-mega-duper busy ever since then.
You know, college 2nd sem be like CRAZY!
Midterm & final exams, going to classes every single day, group projects, essays,
deadlines that seemed like next year turned out to be tomorrow... these kinds of stuffs. Yes.

But today, I'm officially done with my college freshman year!
(And I shall write a post fully dedicated to my first college year, asap)
And now that I'm left with tons of pictures & stories to be told,
November Dairy was the first thing that must be done.

I know, it's like half-way to Christmas & end of this year, but I'm a huge control freak in terms of my blog,
and I just wanted to show how my life went through (which was totally disappeared in this blog) in chronological order...

Here's my November, the month between my midterm & final exam.
So-called 'the calm before the storm'.

The first rain of November was pretty cool.
I was on my way to the first class of the day, super sleepy.
And when I turned back to see how much my backpack was drenched in the rain, this scenery caught my eyes.
I had to get my phone out & walk away as if nothing happened, but the camera shutter sound...

I don't know why these halloween treats are in my November picture file, but aren't they the cutest?
Maybe I was like whatever towards halloween that I had these on November.

Those ghost donuts were from Dunkin donuts, with cream cheese filling and white/matcha chocolate frosting on top.
Tbh, they were just picture-worthy ones. The cream filling didn't want to show up even though I had eaten half of it!
And those chocolate muffins were made by my sister, which was really gooey and sweet
with little bit of peanut butter core surprise! It was even better with hot chocolate.
And the rabbit-shaped food here is made by little girls who are attending the same art workshop with me.
They named this a 'witch pancake' and gave me an honor to taste their diy halloween treats.

 Random selfie of November!
Photo credit goes to my messy post makeup site & messy bun.

Moments when I already felt holiday festivity- workshop version of Christmas lights & college choir

What happens when college girls hang out on Friday night: pretty cakes & chats
Sadly, my college girls and I somehow don't end up hanging out as much as we wish, mainly because of hectic school days.
But when we do, we just talk and talk and eat and talk and eat.
That's it and this is like an unchanging equation. (sometimes end up grabbing some good ol' drinks!)

That day was full of chats, selfies, laughter and amazing desserts.

And matching lipsticks & ice creams...

And the day after I hung out with my friends, we met again.
This time, for something more purposeful.

South Korea is in quite serious political situation right now, and we are all working hard to show what the real democracy is.
It was my first time to properly participate in the protest march, and it was amazing.
There were no chaos or violence, but passion and unity.
It felt REALLY great and meaningful to be a part of the history as a Korean.

Baking of November: tricolor cookies
Never thought sweet pumpkin, chocolate and green tea would go great together!
They also kinda remind me of watercolor paintings.

And school days again.
As November ended, Seoul got much much colder & my friends and I were desperate for warm noodles.
We found a little udon place around the campus and devoured a whole bowl!

End of November means official Christmas decors and countdowns.
We couldn't just pass the Christmas tree before going back to class and took a christmas bauble selfie!

These are previews of my upcoming posts. I went to two amazing day trips on November and left another tons of pictures. Maybe these posts can wait until next year casue I'm ready for Christmas posts!!!

―

So that was my November diary.
I'm so excited to write more posts during my winter break cause it has officially started.
And even more excited for y'alls's Christmas posts to come!

What are your plans for this winter break? Let's catch up!
